So I tried plugging directly into the ethernet, which also didn’t work. I have loaded all of the XP Professional updates available and can not connect. I started up my computer this morning, and the same problem again – constantly says “aquiring network address” although no wireless networks are showing up on the list.
I have the same question I cannot stress enough that the updates from IBM and Windows update did not work and I wasted a lot of time. Since then, the T40 has developed the video issue, and I’ve identified a blown fuse as the possible culprit of the T43’s no-power issue.
T40 crisis recovery not work? After a very interesting discussion with gertvdijk it turned out that this is highly probable that the problem here is that the network I am connecting to. Others have had a similar problem, but I’ve tried the solutions that worked for them, with no luck.
